The Dean of Graduate School of Engineering delivered a keynote speech at " The 20th EPMEWSE Symposium" (10/8)

2022.10.21

Under the " Tohoku University Declaration of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)" issued in April 2022, the Graduate School of Engineering at Tohoku University has newly launched  "School of Engineering DEI Promotion Project" to foster an environment in which it is easy to work and learn regardless of gender, nationality, position, etc., and to enable each and every one of us to exercise our abilities to the fullest. The project aims to further strengthen research capabilities and create innovation by fostering environments in which it is easy to work and learn regardless of gender, nationality, position, etc., and by enabling each individual to exercise their abilities to the fullest. Currently, as one of the positive actions for this purpose, we are conducting an open call for DEI promotion and are in the process of selecting five female faculty members for professorships. We also intend to foster an environment in which middle and high school students, who will lead the next generation, can choose to enter the Faculty of Engineering without hesitation, regardless of gender.

At the request from The Japan Inter-Society Liaison Association Committee for Promoting Equal Participation of Men and Women in Science and Engineering (EPMEWSE), Professor Hiroo Yugami, the Dean of the Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University, gave a keynote lecture at "the 20th EPMEWSE Symposium ". The title of the lecture is as follows;
